“Pathways to Progress” was the name of the original website at JustPhilanthropy.org. Funded by Ford Foundation from 2003-2009, and assisted by Betty Emarita and Vanessa McKendall Stephens, the website provided a framework for achieving greater impact. The goal was to stimulate more, better philanthropic activity that levels the playing field, reduces barriers, and closes the gaps so that our public systems and private markets can perform more fairly for all. Its goal was to help move philanthropy closer to social justice and racial equity.
This goal was and is sorely needed, as the data are consistent: increasing racial equity and strengthening social justice remain challenges to our society. Philanthropy has much to contribute in furthering progress, but could be more intentional.

The present site continues many of the themes of the Pathways to Progress project, now in the form of a web blog, and expands on the focus. See the About tab.
