About

About the web log

This blog site is the successor to “Pathways to Progress,” previously published at the same URL, www.JustPhilanthropy.org.  With this blog we continue our emphasis on “moving philanthropy closer to issues of justice and equity.” At the same time we’ll open the lens  wider to explore issues relating to effectiveness in the philanthropic sector more broadly.

I thank you for the feedback received in response to a reader survey sent out in November.  As you can see, I’ve repurposed, reformatted, and repositioned.

The tag line for this blog refers to “the confluence of philanthropy, justice, and evaluation.”  Hopefully this will result in a book on these subjects, along with software for evaluating philanthropic effectiveness, either individual or institutional.

I’ll continue to email the newest blog post to the list I’ve maintained the last few years, so those of you on that list will continue to receive material that way.  In addition, we invite you to sign up and subscribe by email.

We intend JustPhilanthropy.org to be more participatory than in the past, and invite you to use the Reply/Comment option.  I’ll screen these, of course, before posting.
